Pensioner repeatedly stabs man in chicken shop in bizarre pool table row
A 71-year-old pensioner has been sentenced to 40 months in jail after stabbing a fellow drinker multiple times with a flick knife following a dispute over a pub pool table.
Victim Terry Santry was left staggering on the pavement before collapsing to the ground before being rushed to hospital where he remained for eight days.
Patrick Dynan pleaded guilty to causing grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of an offensive weapon at his trial.

The incident occurred on April 14, 2022, at the Broad Green Tavern in Croydon, South London, after the two men got into a drunken argument over a game of pool.
The bar manager intervened and spoke to Dynan to defuse the situation him assuring the bar manager that he would not cause any trouble.

However, a short while later when Santry left the pub to order food from a nearby chicken shop Dynan returned to his home to collect a knife.
He then approached his victim from behind and stabbed him at least three times in the back while shouting “you are f***** you are f*****."
Emergency services were called at 5:46 pm, and Mr Santry was rushed to the hospital.
In his victim impact statement, Mr Santry said that he struggled with “recurring thoughts of the incident, hearing his voice and struggling to sleep” and that he had felt “violated” after the attack.
Dynan was heard saying “That’s it, I’m going away for the rest of my life. My life is over,” as well apologising to the landlord and pointing out that he hadn’t done it in his pub.
When another customer expressed concern for the victim, Dynan responded “f*** him.”

He later made further admissions to the police but claimed that he had discovered the knife in his coat pocket, a claim which the judge rejected.
Dynan had no previous convictions for violence and had been attending courses to treat his alcohol addiction while in custody, the court heard.
He was sentenced to 40 months in jail by Judge Neil Flewitt, KC, who regarded the decision to go home and arm himself with the knife as being a sign of premeditation and planning.
Despite the sentencing, Mr Santry seemed unsatisfied with the sentence, shouting out: “You’re a lucky boy” at Dynan as the sentencing came to an end.
